To connect cameras with Ivideon software, you will need:
1. A power source for the camera: either a standard power adapter (usually included with the camera) or a PoE adapter/switch.
PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology is used to deliver power to cameras via network cables from PoE adapters and PoE switches.
Requirements for a standard power adapter are specified in the camera's manual. In general, the adapter must meet the following criteria:
- Output voltage (V) must match the specified value, within the allowable tolerance (±%).
- Output current (A) must be equal to or greater than the specified value.
For example, if a camera requires 12V/1A, it can be powered using a 12V/1A or 12V/2A adapter.
2. A router that provides internet access.
Please note that connecting cameras to the internet by other means without a router (e.g., plugging directly into the provider's cable) is not guaranteed to work correctly.
3. For wired cameras with an Ethernet port — an Ethernet cable (usually included with the camera).
In some cases (if your router has a limited number of LAN ports), a network switch may also be required to connect multiple wired cameras to a single router.
Use UTP2 or UTP4 network cables. To power a camera via PoE, a UTP4 cable is required. It is recommended to use cables of Category 5e or higher.
