1. How can I add a DVR to Ivideon Server automatically?
Open the Ivideon Server program.
Click + Add Device on the toolbar.
Select the Search for devices… option:
4. Right-click on the name of your NVR from the list, click Add from the context menu.
5. Enter the DVR’s login and password.
6. To check whether the DVR information is correct and see the live video from the device within our server before starting it, click the Preview… button with an eye icon.
If everything works correctly, click OK to save the device’s settings*. Start Ivideon Server to see the video in your account.
*If your DVR was automatically added via ONVIF, click Update configuration before saving the settings/checking the preview.
2. How can I add a DVR to Ivideon Server manually?
You can add a DVR manually in case the automatic search in Ivideon Server program does not find it.
Open Ivideon Server program.
Click + Add Device.
Select Add DVR/NVR.
4. Type in a name for your DVR.
5. Select a manufacturer (to avoid scrolling through the manufacturers list, type in the first letters of the manufacturer’s name when it’s opened to jump to the specific part of the list).
6. Select the model of your DVR.
7. Enter the IP address, login, and password of the DVR.
8. Set additional parameters, if necessary (e.g., a nonstandard port to receive video and audio).
9. If you enter all the necessary data correctly, you should be able to see the live feed from the channels of your DVR after clicking on the Preview… button (button with an eye icon).
10. If everything works correctly, click OK to save the device’s settings. Start Ivideon Server to see the video in your account.
3. What do I do if the manufacturer of my DVR is not listed?
If you cannot connect your DVR to Ivideon Server automatically or manually, try adding it using one of the following methods:
Via ONVIF protocol
Via RTSP protocol
Make sure the DVR supports RTSP or ONVIF video protocol. Information about the supported protocols and the RTSP link to the video stream can be found in the device’s manual or requested by contacting the device’s manufacturer.
You can check the functionality of the RTSP link in the VLC Media Player application.
3.1. Adding a DVR using ONVIF protocol
Open the Ivideon Server program.
Click + Add Device.
Select Add DVR / NVR.
4. Type in a name for your DVR.
5. Select <ONVIF> as a manufacturer.
6. Enter the IP address, login, and password of the DVR.
7. Click the Update Configuration button.
8. If you enter all the necessary data correctly, you should be able to see the live feed from the channels of your DVR after clicking on the Preview… button (button with an eye icon).
9. If everything works correctly, click OK to save the device’s settings. Start Ivideon Server to see the video in your account.
3.2. Adding a DVR using RTSP protocol
If it was not possible to connect the DVR automatically or manually, try using the RTSP link to the video stream. Each channel of the recorder generally has a different RTSP link, that’s why each of the channels in this case is to be added as a separate camera.
Open the Ivideon Server program.
Click + Add Device.
Select Add IP camera.
4. Type in a name for the channel of your DVR.
5. Pick <Other manufacturer> from the list of manufacturers.
6. Click on the button with 3 dots (to the right of the URL field next to the button with an eye icon) and enter the RTSP link for this particular DVR channel:
7. Enter the IP address, login, and password of the DVR.
8. Set additional parameters, if necessary (e.g., a nonstandard port to receive video and audio).
9. If you enter all the necessary data correctly, you should be able to see the live feed from the DVR channel in question after clicking on the Preview… button (button with an eye icon).
10. If everything works correctly, click OK to save the device’s settings. Start Ivideon Server to see the video in your account.
