Cloud storage - is a method where video recordings are stored on Ivideon's cloud data centers. To record archive to the cloud, a camera requires stable Internet connection.
To enable cloud storage, you need to connect a subscription with the "Recording by camera detectors or continuous cloud recording" function to the camera and then select one of the available recording modes.
Please note: For Freemium and Online subscription plans, only short event video clips are available. To enable full cloud storage recording, you need to use plans with 'Cloud' in the name or with corresponding video analytics functions.
Full cloud storage recording starts from the moment the subscription plan is activated. The storage period depends on the subscription plan.
For example: if a camera has the Cloud 7 plan activated - the recorded archive will be stored for the last 7 days.
- Standard subscription provides cloud archive retention from 3 to 30 days. However, it is possible to individually connect plans with longer retention periods. If you need to store more than 30 days of video archive in the cloud, please contact us.
- The service has no limits on the total volume of recorded archive but does have a limit on the maximum bitrate of the camera's video stream. Archive overwriting happens automatically when the maximum storage period is reached: the oldest recordings in the cloud are gradually erased, replaced by the newest ones.
Key advantages of cloud storage:
- Recording to cloud storage does not require any SD-cards or DVRs. However, local recording can be made simultaneously with cloud recording, as a backup in case of Internet connection interruptions.
- Records in the cloud will be available for remote viewing and export even if the camera is turned off or has lost connection to the service.
- Only Ivideon account owner or someone with archive viewing rights can access the recordings (except for public cameras). Recordings are transferred to our cloud and stored on our servers in encrypted form.
