How to Enable Local Archive Recording?

Last update: 10.02.2026

Local archive - is a storage method where video recordings are stored on:

  • SD card installed in an IP camera;
  • HDD in a video recorder (DVR/NVR);
  • HDD on a PC running the Ivideon Server application.

Please note: the retention period for a local archive depends on the capacity of the SD card or hard drive. For more details, see: How much free space should I have to store local archive?

Recording to a local archive does not require the camera to have constant internet access. You can view local archive recordings:

1. Remotely via our service (provided the device is linked to an account and has internet access).

2. Locally:

  • Via the web interface of the camera or recorder itself;
  • In the Ivideon Client application for PC (provided the cameras are connected to Ivideon Server and local viewing is configured).
