License plate recognition can be set up in two ways, depending on your camera type:
Method 1. Ivideon and Hikvision camera models with a built-in analytics module
Method 2. Any cameras without a built-in analytics module
The key differences between the two methods are outlined in the table below:

Method 1. Special Ivideon and Hikvision camera models with a built-in analytics module
The following cameras with an ANPR system are currently supported:
- Ivideon 8450Z-ASD
- Hikvision DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHS, iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHS, and iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHS. To connect these cameras to the service, you must install Ivideon firmware.
- Hikvision DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IV (up to 12m) and DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IV (up to 25m). Both cameras are co-branded and come with Ivideon software pre-installed from the factory; no additional firmware installation is required.
Important note for direct connection:
To connect Ivideon 8450Z-ASD and Hikvision H8 series cameras (iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHS and iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHS with Ivideon software) directly to Ivideon account, you need to access their web interface. Open Settings > Network > Advanced settings > Access platforms, and enable the option Access platform mode - Third-party services.
Other Hikvision cameras (without Ivideon software on board) that support the ANPR function can also be used with the Ivideon system by connecting them via Ivideon Bridge or Ivideon Server using the Hikvision protocol. (Note: The ANPR function will not be available when connecting via the ONVIF or RTSP protocol.)
Method 2. Any cameras without a built-in analytics module
You can use any cameras connected to the Ivideon service by any available method, provided a special subscription plan (Cloud ANPR) is activated for them.
